Australian Off Road Racing Championship

The Sunraysia 500 is a National and State Championship
Long Course Off Road Dual Status Event conducted on Tapio Station, North
West of Buronga in NSW, approximately 14km from Mildura. The event
is approximately 500 kilometres in length and tracks comprise a variety
of surfaces including sand tracks, clay, grass, limestone, river flats
and thick mallee scrub.The event is
promoted by Sunraysia Motor Sport Club Inc of Mildura in South Australia
.The Sunraysia 500 is conducted in two sections and
consists of two continuous laps of the 125 km course followed by a one
hour compulsory break between Lap 2 and Lap 3. The race continues
with two more continuous laps. The total competition distance (4 laps)
is approximately 500 kms.
Starting order will be determined by a Prologue.
Competitors will be seeded in class in the Prologue start order. The
Prologue will be over a distance of approximately 5km.
A 10 minute (maximum) refuel time will be allowed
between laps 1 and 2 and laps 3 and 4 if required, to refuel in the
designated refuel area adjacent to start / finish area. Only fuel may be
added to the vehicle in this refuel area. If you stop in the refuel
area, fuel must be added. No mechanical work is permitted in this area
but, if mechanical work is required, the vehicle, must exit the refuel
area and return to the pits. No refueling is permitted in the pits
between laps 1 and 2 and laps 3 and 4. Competitors will be permitted to
have a drink, something to eat, go to the toilet, wash their
goggles/visors and nothing else. Competitors are required to organise
their own fuel requirements. No fuel will be sold at the event.
Refueling, whether in the pit area or the refuel area, must be carried
out in accordance with Off Road Standing Regulations 4.5
Entries are open to all Classes 1 thru 9.
Presentation of Trophies will be held as soon as
possible at the conclusion of the event.
The official in charge of the sweep vehicle will be
judge of fact in regard to whether the vehicle will reach the next
control before it closes. This decision shall be final and not subject
to protest.
Catering will be provided from Friday night until the
conclusion of the event.
A guide to competitors will be issued to all entrants
with Further Regulations. This guide will contain information which does
not form part of the regulations of the event, but will be of assistance
to competitors. The contents of the guide for competitors shall be of no
regulatory value, and as such may not be used as the basis of a protest.
